On Friday, October 14th all pupils in the school had the opportunity to work with weaver, Geraldine O’Sullivan.
Geraldine spoke to the children about the history of spinning and weaving. Pupils got to spin wool on individual spindles and operate a spinning wheel. They also learned how to card wool.
Geraldine brought in individual looms for each pupil. Using different colour wool pupils made their own friendship bands.
The workshop was a wonderful experience for our pupils with lots of learning and fun combining History and Visual Arts.
A sincere thank you to Geraldine for a fantastic workshop.
